Here is some general information regarding our puppies.

We raise and whelp all of our puppies inside our home and this is where they will stay. Yes the do whelp inside our home and sometimes we even have moms and puppies in our bedroom. Our kids play and handle the puppies daily and help play a big role in the puppies lives while here with us. We weigh our puppies weekly to watch there growth, this way we can make sure everyone is gaining weight at a steady rate and if we need to step in we can.

Your new puppy will be wormed on a strict schedule starting at 2 weeks of age and will also be given there first two set of shots. We also start introducing the puppies to a doggie door (if the weather permits) and potty training is started using potty pads and newspapers.

Visitation

We do not allow anyone to visit the puppies until they are old enough to receive there first set of shots at 6 weeks of age. We are very careful to keep our puppies and adults free of parasites and diseases. Some disease such as, Parvo virus is very contagious and this disease can wipe out our entire basset family alone. We do this to protect our puppies as there little immune system is very fragile. We also understand that you want to be apart of your new puppies life from day 1 and we do send weekly updated pictures so you can see your new puppy grow. Once the puppies are 6 weeks old and ready to meet there new family, we will allow you to visit with your new baby and you can also meet the parents at this time. We only allow families that are adopting one of our puppies to visit, no exceptions! All visits must be made in advance. We are not a pet store and do not have hours of operation. Our puppies are raised inside our home, not in the back yard. We do not allow "window shoppers" to visit just to see what a basset puppy looks like. Please understand that we are protecting our babies and these policies are in the best interest for everyone involved. When you do pick up your puppy at 8 weeks of age, we ask that you do not visit any pet stores, other breeders, and please do not bring any other animals with you. Again this is all to protect your puppy. And we will be more than happy to provide anyone with our vets number and also references.

Deposits, Final payments, etc.

When we are expecting a litter or planning one, we will generally take deposits. Deposits are first come first serve so to say. If you are putting a deposit down on a puppy, please remember it is non-refundable. We will accept checks for a deposit but prefer money orders and certified bank checks. Once you tell us you want to put a deposit down on a puppy, I will send you our puppy contract and tell you what pick you have. I will hold your place for 3 business days to allow for the deposit to arrive.

We require the balance of your puppy to be paid for in full (including the shipping costs if needed) no later than 7 weeks of age. Even if you are picking up your puppy in person. No exceptions!

We will not accept checks for the final payments, no exceptions. We will be glad to keep your puppy for an extra amount of time as both agreed upon, but after an extended amount of time we will charge a weekly fee. Your puppy will also be taken to the vet regardless if we are flying him or her to you. If we are shipping your puppy, please keep in mind the weather always plays the big role regarding scheduling flights. They are very strict about there temperatures and can at times be challenging, but they do this for the best interest of your puppy.
